New Review of the film from Gen Con by Christopher Folino
Patrick Jankiewicz who writes for Dreamwatch Magazine and who saw a cut of the film at Gen Con in Los Angeles, CA last November gave us some excellent quotes.
“A meaner, funnier Napoleon Dynamite” and “It’s a goodhearted movie, with a lot of invention."
–Dreamwatch Magazine
Wow, isn’t that kick ass? I will post the entire article once I get it.
I’m going to have to ask him if that’s cool if we use those quotes in our new trailer!
Mixed with Shannon’s review from Warcry.com and we got ourselves some sweet press and they haven’t even seen the latest cut yet!
The date has been set for the distribution/private screening for “Gamers” March 21st, 2006 at 7:30PM at the Fine Arts Theater.
I’m really excited about the screening at the Fine Arts Theater, and we are starting to reach out to get hype, press, and distributors to come.
I saw some photos of the theater, man that’s a kick ass place, it sits a little over 400 people and we are getting the name of the movie on the marquee for that night.
Call me a geek, I don’t give a shit, that’s going to be sweet!
I got another copy of the film to review this weekend, and we are down to really small details. Minor graphic and audio changes, it’s rather nice.
Other than myself there’s only been one other person who has watched the new cut and that’s our producer Manuel. And he stated the new cut is a hundred times better.
It’s not that the last cut sucked, it’s just time and perspective.

"God is in the details" by Christopher Folino
David Lynch once said in an interview “God is in the details” that always stuck with me, I respect Lynch, hell, “Twin Peaks” season one alone the man walks on water for that.
Right now, as we fine tune “Gamers” that’s the quote that resonates in my head.
It’s exciting again, the movie really has been re-worked a great deal and is beefed up with some classic comedy moments on top of what we already had.
If “Gamers” had gotten into a festival, we wouldn’t have worked this hard to make the movie this much better.
I called the last film festival we entered, which is the Seattle Film Festival and we are sending them a new cut on Monday of the movie. I know in my mind that this is the best cut we can do right now.
Regardless of what happens in Seattle we are moving forward with the Distribution Screening and before that press. Whoever or however we can get this film watched, reviewed, hyped, debated, I don’t give a shit! We will do it. Starting next week March 1st, it’s on.
Next Wednesday “Gamers” may be getting some Cable TV coverage and I’ll be talking with all the actors to see who is available. We will give more details once the deal is finalized.

"Bush has lost his fucking mind" by Christopher Folino
Brushing aside objections from Republicans and Democrats alike, Bush endorsed the takeover of shipping operations at six major U.S. seaports by a state-owned-business in the United Arab Emirates. He pledged to veto any bill Congress might approve to block the agreement.
How bad of an idea is this? Ladies and Gentlemen, this is equal to when Eddie Van Halen signed Gary Cherone from Extreme to be the lead singer of Van Halen.
Here’s an exact quote from George “It sends a terrible signal to friends around the world that it’s OK for a company from one country to manage the port, but not a country that plays by the rules and has a got a good track record from another part of the world.”
Track record? How is this for a track record? Lawmakers from both parties have noted that some of the Sept 11th hijackers used the United Arab Emirates as an operational and financial base. In addition, critics contend the UAE was an important transfer point for shipments of smuggled nuclear components sent to Iran, North Korea and Libya by a Pakistani scientist.
So, how about we pass a law making it illegal for any foreign country to operate any of our seaports?
I don’t think GI Joe would let Cobra take command of their seaports, just because, Cobra was nice to them for a few years?
Other things equally as wrong in this world or if not worse
Kermit the Frog being used as a salesman for The Ford Escape Hybrid , Yes! This is exactly what Jim Henson dreamed of when he created Kermit. It’s such a nice Kermitage.
Disney announced more plans to whore out other Muppets to corporate America.
Animal will be lent out to help improve the image of “Halliburton”
The new spot will feature Animal dressed up like an insurgent attempting to blow up an oil field in Iraq, when suddenly a leash flies into the screen and wraps around his neck, and an attractive but strong Halliburton female employee in a mini-skirt is holding onto the lease. “Halliburton, we got the Middle East on a leash!”
As long as it’s not to cartooney, it will work!
By the way “Gamers” is doing great.

No more sliding downhill for “Gamers”, IMDB currently ranks us at number 6,382 on the MOVIEmeter. Finally, we move in the right direction and fall from 7,115 on February 12th. The lower the MOVIEmeter ranking the better, don't forget to click on IMDB to see new production photos this week.
Clooney’s Batsuit is for sale –The Batman costume from the 1997 box office flop “Batman and Robin” is expected to reach 100,000 at auction. A $100,000 for a Batman costume with nipple rings that was showcased in a movie that was so awful that it nearly took down the entire franchise? Where do you display such an item in your home? The bedroom? Even if I was gay, and there’s nothing wrong with being gay. I don’t see that as a turn on?” “Holy careers sinking Batman”, I bet you could buy Chris O’Donnell for a entire month for $100,000 and that does come with his Robin costume.
Bush approves Cheney’s handling of mishap – The President recently at a press conference stated “I would of preferred Dick killed him so the next time he and Laura were at an important gathering, I could punk them both by announcing “Your attention please, anyone who has accidentally killed another human being is restricted to a total of ten beers at this raging party!”
Actress Betty White Honored by L.A. Zoo –The Los Angeles Zoo Monday honored Betty White by announcing that she will be the only Golden Girl who will not be hunted and then fed to the lions to improve low attendance “We feel her work on “Boston Legal” has given Betty full clemency. However, Estelle Getty and Rue McClanahan, you bitches, you’re both open game!
