Saturday Night Blog by Christopher Folino
"Hell of a thing, killin' a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have." -Bill Munny, "Unforgiven"

Sometimes, you just feel like quoting Bill Munny even on a blog.

For those who check the blog on a daily basis, let me start off by saying, "Wow, I had no idea" and "man, doesn't the Internet suck! There's only so much Paris Hilton one can take even on the net!"

Second, my twin boys had a rough week and heart monitors were blasting off way too much.
I wasn't much in the mood to be funny this week on the blog. Trust me, if you ran into me on street, I was still "fucking funny". I was doing impressions of Russian circus animals in the wintertime and I kept telling my old favorite joke I created back in the eighties. "Did you notice that ever since Jim Henson died, Ronald Reagan stopped making public appearances!”?

Yeah, pretty good huh? Even despite the fact old Ronnie is dead himself.

What a strange week, the death of actor Chris Penn, that sucked and it made me sad.
He was a talented guy and he could do drama and comedy.
I really was a fan of his work and that's one talented family with his brother Sean and musician Michael.

Then you got Disney buying Pixar, which is fantastic! Giving the Pixar folks power over the animated movies at Disney! I'm excited for Disney and I thank God that "Toy Story 3" has been stopped and it will now be done by Pixar again! That's proof that there is hope for Corporate America!
Pixar is a class act, I went there once to interview some folks and the place is amazing! And the people are having so much fun. They a swimming pool for employees and a movie theater!
God, if only they had like a midget lounging around the pool, then it would be the greatest place ever!

Some "Gamers" business now. My best guess is that we are weeks away from it all being done.
I think we may even have two versions cut which we will then have to figure out which one is better.

So what's next?
That's it. We go some other stuff written, however, the plan is finish, hold a distribution screening and let "Gamers" have a shot.

By the way if you watch "Inside the NFL" watch the highlight clips between the Steelers and Denver, there is some lady who the mic guy caught every time they show a crowd shot, and she needs to be taken out by Jack Bauer from 24. That's how annoying her shriek of joy is!
She's a Steeler fan so she can be heard a lot!

Speaking of Football! Steelers and Seattle! That's going to fun!
If Seattle plays like last week, then there is no question they'll win that game.

I will write a Sunday Blog, lots to cover!

Update by Christopher Folino
Been a long time since I rock and rolled or wrote in this blog.

I wish I could say it was due to power meetings and hanging-out at Sundance and getting my gif bag on.

However, it’s been spent weekends and weeknights taking care of the twins! Where they make me special “gift bag” every other hour.

I saw Kevin Kirkpatrick on TV the other night on the Spike TV sketch show where he played an Amish guy who invented video games. Kirkpatrick funny as always!

Scott Allen Rinker will be shooting this week for his guest appearance on the “Ghost Whisperer”.

Dave Hanson got an agent and Ben Messmer is now credited with doing “Gamers” on IMDB. In fact, IMDB added everybody else to the credits.

We are hoping to get some film transferred and some of the new scenes we filmed developed.
Everything is going well with the film and we will go into editing soon at the film shop.

We will be experimenting with cutting the opener different and the new scenes will add a lot of the sick humor to the second half.

However, most of the editing will be of the original footage and just slight changes.

"The "Dark Whiskey" Dream by Christopher Folino
We start the blog off with a look at our weekly ranking on IMDB.
“Gamers” has slipped down for a second week straight, it’s ranked 5765 on the IMDB MOVIEmeter.

That’s 327 movies points we dropped in a week! Not really bad considering the two major indie festivals that hit are happening this week.

On the IMDB comedy MOVIEmeter we are ranked 2293 that’s two above the classic “Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise!"

However, if I was a gambling man, I’d say our numbers will go down for next weeks ranking. Then again, I thought the Seattle Seahawks would lose to Carolina today.
Speaking of Seattle, I had a great dream last night, for some reason Michael Caine was our producer for the movie “Gamers” and he was in Seattle and they were naming off all the movies that got into the Seattle Film Festival.
I remember walking in this huge football arena with Michael Caine to get this packed bar where for some reason the festival was announcing which films were accepted.
It got down to the very last film and they announced “Gamers”! It was so cool, the entire bar erupts for “Gamers” and I was so happy!
Then Michael Caine goes up to the bar and orders a "dark whiskey" and I sense he the bartender have some sort of history. Well, the bartender makes Caine a glass of dark whiskey. However, Michael rolls it back without taking a drink telling the bartender “It’s not dark enough.” Caine is pissing the bartender off really badly, and now Caine starts chugging the “Dark Whiskey” and he keeps telling the bartender it’s not dark enough!
I’m like pleading in my dream with Caine to just shut-up the hell-up and drink his “Dark Whiskey!”
Then I woke up with the feeling that the festival took back the invite for “Gamers”
I know I’m only getting three hours of sleep each night, and I rarely remember my dreams so now I get to figure out what the hell this one was about! Serious, what the hell is Michael Caine doing in my dream as our producer? And I’ll have to go see a shrink to figure out the dark whiskey!

And lastly I share with you the last five songs I’ve added to my IPOD.
I’ve decided to take a new approach “If I’m in public, what songs won’t I be embarrassed to have on my IPOD. “ I was getting so much smack talk for having “Say, Say, Say” on my IPOD! That’s classic baby! A little Ebony and Ivory classic!
So I wiped off my IPOD, and have started over. Here now are the last five songs I’ve added.

Squeeze –“Up the Junction”
Billy Bragg & Wilco –“California Stars”
Credence Clearwater Revival –“Cotton Fields”
Tom Petty –“Roll another Joint”
Ramones –“California Sun”

Have a great day! Monday’s blog will be dedicated to writing about the latest behind-the-scenes stories.
I'm going to go have a dark whiskey!
