05/03/2006: ""A not so perfect ten" by Christopher Folino"
Gamers continues it's perfect streak with film festivals as we add The Seatle Film Festival to the list of people with no taste for us.
For all you folks playing at home that's 10 film festival that have passed on showing "Gamers"
Sundance, Slamdance, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Cinequest in San Jose, CineVegas in Las Vegas, Aspen Comedy Film Festival, South by Southwest, Berlin, and Seattle.
I don't included Comic Con for the simple fact that the people who run it our idiots and never viewed it.
Seattle was given the latest cut of the film and man, what does it take?
I seriously had a dream that we got a call and we were accepted, it was so pathetic, for one second I felt a great joy, like I did with discovering breast were good for the first time or when I saw the "Empire Strikes Back".
However, even in my dream, I was smart enough to snap out if and say "Wake up Dick"
We are doing our best, we sent Seattle the rave reviews of the film from reporters who rate and attend indie film festivals.
I'll be honest, it feels like I'm living a Bruce Springsteen song every day with this movie, and it's stuck on song"Darkness on the edge of Town.".
"Tonight I'll be on that hill 'cause I can't stop
I'll be on that hill with everything I got
Lives on the line where dreams are found and lost
I'll be there on time and I'll pay the cost
For wanting things that can only be found
In the darkness on the edge of town"
I am looking forward to switching the CD changer to "Glory Days"
Even if I hate that God damn song.
