03/05/2006: ""Ben Hur with Dice" -New tagline created by Jason Driver -Article by Folino"
“Gamers” climbed passed 1,730 movies on the IMDB to rank at 4,487.
This places the film hire than the Kelly LeBrock's classic "The Woman in Red" which
is ranked 4,493.
We also kicked former James Bond ass when he was just “Remington Steele” whch
is at 4,502.
And Tupac is our bitch this week, as "Poetic Justice" comes files a ranking of 4,511.
“Gamers” segment to appear on “Electric Playground”
Recently, Scott Allen Rinker, Dave Hanson, Kevin Sherwood, Joe Nieves, Michael Bell, and myself and executive producer Fernando Velloso were interviewed by Victor Lucas for "Electric Playground" which airs on G4 media talking about "Gamers."
How cool is that? We don't have even a distribution deal and the little film
got some heat and kick? Don't ask me what heat and kick means, I just made
it up, however, it sounds fresh, huh?
We shot in front of the Federal Building and I got to do my
interview with both Michael Bell and Fernando. Thank God, because, I sucked, I
really did. I did remember my name and that is progress.
Michael Bell saved the day, you just watch in awe as he comes up with shit you would never say out loud to another man while a camera is recording you. And Fernando with his "Shrek 2" Puss in Boots accent just sounded cool and authentic.
I however, couldn't even remember our movies new tagline, partly because it
sucks. "Some streaks should never be broken." Good tagline if you've seen the movie, However, Jason Driver, one of our favorite folks is describing the film as "Ben Hur with Dice!"
They paired Kevin and Scott together, and Hanson and a very bearded Joe
Nieves teamed up together. They all did a great job and it was fun, it
really was. And I really just tripped out because it's "Gamers" and somebody is taking this film serious! What a bunch of suckers!"
The G4 cameraman and Victor were super cool and we owe Tom Stratton the
Prince of P.R. a steak dinner for setting up the interview. If not steak, than how
about some beef jerky?
I kid, I kid.
I got a good laugh this morning, the short film we created, shot on 35MM and edited
for THQ called "Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers made it onto
www.abum.com With the title "Iraq in Video Games -And now we have a video game based partly on the war in Iraq. Too soon?"
It's been viewed 9,486 times, 309 votes, with 2.6 rating
And did I take the time to plug "Gamers" on that site? Yes sir, hell yes I
did. And did I screw up the URL on my post? Yes sir, hell yes I did.
That's the bad boy that started it all, shot on near Magic Mountain,
it's the old Jag TV show set with Mario Vanillo my old neighbor from El Monte who does special effects. He was instrumental in helping us get all the
tech and gun guys from the “Jarhead” movie. We shot it in one day with 33 set-ups for under 70K. And the shoot had an incredible team, Jennifer Stechman, Video department and Roberto Blasini is the man.
Watch the clip, it looks like we spent a million dollars on it. Man, I would love to do a war movie with Mario and the gang, blowing shit up is fun!
Check out tomorrow’s blog, we have lots of stuff to cover.
