10/14/2005: "Countdown to Cast/Crew Party"

Tomorrow is the day for the cast/crew party and the first time we will show 300 people the film.

My best guess, because we are still tweaking the film is that it will run 84 to 85 minutes.

I read an article about the director from the "40 Year Old Virgin" and he loved screenings with an audience. He would record it and then synch it to his cut to see where people laughed and didn't laugh.
Well, he's a puss boy.
Like that movie made any money at all! :)
Big fan of the Office by the way, Steve is amazing. And the original Office is the shit. Ricky! Ricky!

The nice thing about blowing your own money and some of your stupid friend's money is that you get to make the stupid movie you want to make.

I remember when I sent the screenplay out to Dr. Merritt Hemenway, my former high-school principal from Bishop Amat. (I've been doing video movies since 1985 and he's been in everyone of them)
So, it was a moral imperative that he had to be in this movie, it's 35mm film!
He was in Canada and told me something like "Wow, you really have something offensive for everyone in this movie"
And he was a bit hesitant to be in it.
Then my favorite line of all time was when he got back to America he called and said.
"I'll be in it, no problems with the script, it just read differently in Canada."

I love that man. He's Uncle Billy in the movie and it was so cool to have him in a scene with John and Beverly.

To be honest, I did the movie because if it does well then I can go back to Bishop Amat and hang with Pat Haden at fundraisers. And to be able to go to my twenty year high school reunion and go "What is up you bitches!" "Yeah, just made a movie, pretty God damn offensive to the world of Role Players!"

And if the movie dies on Saturday and no other screening ever happens...we'll, that's impossible.
We made a good movie.

Thanks for reading the blog, and if your name is Tito be warned that the offensive scene with Reese is back in the film! Say hello to Ralph for me!
